Networks in Dialogue

Multi-perspective strategies for combatting antisemitism at local levels in Germany and Poland

The House of the Wannsee Conference Memorial and Educational Site, the Warsaw-based NGO Forum for Dialogue and the Warsaw-based consulting agency Ecorys are conducting a project to develop networks in Poland and Germany with the aim of improving multi-perspective strategies for combatting antisemitism at local levels.

The House of the Wannsee Conference Memorial and Educational Site (GHWK) plans to create a network of memorials, remembrance sites and institutions in Berlin and Brandenburg. The aim is for voluntary and salaried staff to exchange views on local approaches to historical-political education, specifically to combat antisemitism, in a jointly coordinated multi-part series of events at different locations.

The Forum for Dialogue will strengthen the quantity and quality of its network of activists from all over Poland who educate people about Jewish history and culture, preserve Jewish heritage and build relationships with the descendants of Polish Jews. It hopes to achieve this by significantly increasing the network’s membership, introducing new management and organisational tools and expanding the range of services for activists.

A key element of the overall project is the exchange of experiences between the Forum for Dialogue and the GHWK. Our focus here is to support the sustainable development of networks in Poland and Germany and to examine the transferability of perspectives. The study visit to Berlin is planned for 2024; the return visit to Warsaw will take place in 2025.

Ecorys will provide strategic support to the project by closely evaluating and monitoring the process.

The two-year project (04/2024 - 04/2026) is funded by the European Union under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV) - Promoting Equality and Combatting Racism, Xenophobia and Discrimination (EQUAL).
