Kick-Off Meeting: Antisemitism as a Challenge in Historical-Political Education

On 26 November, colleagues from Berlin and Brandenburg met to discuss the expectations, challenges and deficits in historical-political education. The point of the meeting was to organise five jointly-held events in 2025 that provide an opportunity for other colleagues to engage in an exchange of ideas. During the meetings, participants will be introduced to the sites with their special focal points and challenges, and also address best practices. In the second part, more in-depth information will be provided by experts.

In the morning, Verena Bunkus, Anna Stocker and Matthias Haß presented the educational approaches and challenges of the GHWK, the EU project and the program framework. This was followed by a personal brainstorming session on current challenges and needs. The ideas were then fleshed out in smaller groups before being presented and discussed in the larger group.

In anticipation of the upcoming exchange, we are now working on the detailed plans so that an annual program will soon be available.
