Third network meeting at the Jugend Museum Berlin

On June 11, colleagues from the network met at the Jugend Museum Berlin. This meeting focused on the exchange of practice, methods and experience on antisemitism and other forms of discrimination in educational work with young people.

The event was organized with colleagues from the Jugend Museum Berlin and the Kreuzberg Initiative against Antisemitism (KIgA).

It began with colleagues presenting the exhibition “Villa Global. Next Generation” after which we had time to explore it independently.

This was followed by a presentation of the new exhibition “PROTEST. Interfere. Get loud. Change” during which the methods and approaches of the Jugend Museum Berlin’s educational work were also explained.

Next, the KIgA gave an overview of its work. In small groups, we became acquainted with different workshops on political education. Afterwards the participants had the chance to discuss three central topics: “Is antisemitism an issue for memorials?”, “How do we achieve an intersectional sensitization that supports positions against antisemitism and forms of exclusion?” and “What forms of antisemitism and racist discrimination do we encounter in educational practice at the Youth Museum?” The interesting discussions and productive exchange of ideas once again showed how valuable such network structures are and ensured that we will stay in touch.
